The Name of our Radio
"Rasta Reggae radio" was the title of a radio program planned to be transmetted at the beginning of the 80s but never born. This program would be leaded by the rebel Peter Tosh that would have given voice to the poor ones and to the overwhelmed ones of the ghettos transmitting roots reggae music (full of spiritual and social thematic). Who had power in those years, could not allow something like that. Peter Tosh was a famous international personage already and , using a radiophonic public amplification, its voice could trigger devastating effects for the preconstituted power that took advantage on the social imbalance in order to cure its own advantages. The destabilizing element that an independent mass media like "Rasta Reggae Radio" could generate in fact, has been dampened on being born: In 1987 Peter Tosh's demise was not due to his accidentally stumbling into an ongoing robbery in his house, but instead was a premeditated murder committed by those (maybe even the American intelligence) who did not want Tosh to set up the controversial, militant "Rasta Reggae Radio" station in Jamaica . This name "Rasta Reggae radio" therefore has become for us a symbol of freedom and rebellion to the blinkers and earflaps that Babylon imposes us every day. Without no type of presumptuousness, we take today in our small program, the "baton" of a great but difficult personage as Peter Tosh and his message in order to unite our voice to the chorus of those who feels demselves suffocated from babylon system conspirancy. Roots reggae music is messenger of limpid truth. "Rasta reggae radio" is the space in which this truth can be expressed. I give thanx infinitely to Radio Onda D'Urto and its staff who has made all this possible.
